LFZ "Sketches of Jupiter Vol. 3" (Cassette)

7.00

Third in the series of "Sketches of Jupiter" home-made synthesizer improvisation tapes -and a fan favorite having sold out in a matter of hours- we decided to do a 2nd limited edition. This edition is in solid goldenrod shells. (1st edition came in transparent yellow marbleized shells.)

Side A's 15 minute, "The Violent Dream is None Too Certain" is a dense, yet spacious, multi-movement piece for synthesizer -reminiscent of Ashra and Italo horror- but as usual, LFZ does not stay safely within any boundary. The compositional journey is as emotionally and visually evocative as ever. Some sections, by employing more conventional approaches to bassline/lead than we usually hear from LFZ, ground the listener firmly as the epic, chaotic and sublime slide across the aural landscape. This is certainly LFZ at it's finest.

"YNSY," another 15 minute excursion, this time an experiment in the power of deep drone. One note played on a multitude of synth voicings grinds, pierces and soothes along it's path. As an experience, it is much more than its conceptual components. Despite it being a single tone, it is again a very moving listen.

Act fast, these won't last!!

Numbered edition of 25 Copies. Hand labeled goldenrod Shells. 2 sided j-card, 2 variations to inside artwork.
